We currently have an excellent opportunity for a wellness professional to join our Great Rock Wellness Team as a Wellness Specialist. We currently have an excellent opportunity for a wellness professional to join our Great Rock Wellness Team as a Wellness Specialist. The ideal candidates will be engaging, encouraging, compassionate, self-motivated, and have a passion for working with the senior population. Compensation: $15.00-$17.83/hr (dependent upon experience)
Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Facilitates daily operations for each of our Wellness venues:
- state-of-the-art fitness center
- spacious exercise classrooms
- aquatic center
- indoor walking track
- outdoor Sport Court facility
- Supervises resident and team member programs and provides assistance, as needed.
- Performs fitness evaluations, shares results with resident or team member and provides personalized recommendations
- Develops exercise and/ or training programs tailored to each individual’s health profile, interests, and goals
- Develops and instructs group exercises, both classroom and aquatic
- Assists in creating, expanding and enhancing programs and evaluations to increase engagement by residents and team members
- Leads educational programs and seminars provided by the Wellness department
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science, a related field of study or equivalent work experience required
- High School Diploma or equivalent required without advanced degree
- Experience working with older adults or special populations preferred
- CPR/First Aid/AED certification preferred but will train
- Certification from an accredited NCCA organization (i.e. NETA, ACSM, NASM, ACE, etc.) or willingness to obtain in a timely fashion
- American Red Cross Lifeguard certification is strongly preferred
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Suite Applications required
- Most importantly, this position requires accuracy, dependability, initiative, and the desire to be a part of a team whose main focus is to bring our mission to life for our team and residents:
